The children at our school holiday program had a great time during the holidays, with incursions and excursions galore.
One of the activities was an excursion to the Metro Trains HQ to find out all about the new Metro tunnel.
Wow, what a great day, we left the centre at 9.30 am and travelled to Flinders Street station. The children were full of excitement throughout the journey, Matt from Metro was full of great information, the children all learnt that the yellow marked safe zone on all platforms is the safest place to stand, or if you are lost, go straight to that zone. It is where all drivers can see you, and you are also seen by the Metro head office via security cameras.
Once we arrived, we walked down Flinders Street to Metro HQ, where we learnt all about the new train line. Once it is fully open, we can go all the way to the airport or Sunbury station.

The children were very focused and were able to answer the question of what they were teaching us. Once all the learning was done, we were able to make mini trains, colouring in, train games, and use the VR headset, where we were able to see different train lines and stations.

The children were amazing, all staff at Metro HQ, were amazed by the wonderful behaviour and respect shown by all children.

Once finished, we walked to Fed Square and had lunch before walking back to Flinders Street station and boarding the train back to the centre.
Everyone who went has asked to go to the city again!
